Brigham Historic Park – Things to do in Salt Lake City

Canyon quarries provided stone for many pioneer structures. Red Butte Canyon, located east of downtown Salt Lake City, provided much of the sandstone used in homes, civic buildings, and the temple’s first foundation. Granite for the massive temple walls and for replacement of the weaker, early sandstone foundation came from Little Cottonwood Canyon. A walk through Brigham Historic Park is a fun thing to do in Salt Lake City for visitors.
