Temple Square Flowers – Things to do in Salt Lake City

The Temple Square gardens to be at the top of your list of fun things to do in Salt Lake City, and there is no better time than now (spring) to see the flowers of Temple Square. These world-renowned gardens covering portions of a 35-acre property known as Temple Square. They include 250 flower beds, over 700 varieties of plants and flowers from around the world, and 165,000 to sometimes over 250,000 total plants used on the property each year. Redesigned and replanted every six months, the gardens are tended to by a small paid staff as well as hundreds of volunteers. The designs seen in the Temple Square gardens vary from formal French parterres to old-fashioned English cottage gardens like those of Anne Hathaway’s cottage at Stratford. You’ll find large Victorian flower baskets that feature drought-tolerant plants native to the deserts of the West. Join us on the Salt Lake City Tour or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Tour for more fun facts and to visit the best photo spots of the gardens.
